You don’t know it, but it’s true. We are consuming some sort of Chemical every day, making us sick! What can you do about it?
I’ve been planning to write this blog for a quite a while but had to get my head around it and figure out the best approach. It’s one thing to identify a problem, a big problem, and complain about it; it’s quite another to come up with real workable solutions to solve it. Meanwhile, I have come up with ideas, and a large grocery retailers’ news the other day supports
I was surprised when I stumbled across an article on Facebook, about Aldi, the German grocery chain officially announcing they are banning all pesticides in their products, which is to commence in January 2020. Thus, forcing their suppliers to change their ways, clean up their act, or get the boot! This news opens the door for healthy, chemical-free farmers and producers to become Aldi suppliers, providing Aldi customers with “real healthy and clean” food, which you can read about here.
I was blown away by this news, as my solution to the problem is something similar, far farther reaching and more radical, but the same direction — more on that a little later. First, let’s get back to the problem.
Avoid Poisonous Things!
Avoid Poisonous Things is one of the ten laws of The Primal Blueprint, by Mark Sisson, and probably my favorite, as this rule encompasses more than you think and is essential to our health and longevity.
The “rule” seems logical, and you might say, of course, I avoid poisonous things. That’s the problem, the majority of the population doesn’t know when they are consuming, applying, touching, or breathing in things that contain chemicals and are thus “poisonous.”
Chemicals enter our bloodstream via our pores, digestive system or breath and, over time, wreak havoc on our organs, digestive system, blood, skin and hair, the full monty! The result is multiple forms of illnesses, internal inflammation, and potentially cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
What Products contain Chemcials?
To help you out and understand the spectrum of items containing chemicals, I have compiled this list. It’s by no means complete, but it’s a good summary, so you get the idea. I wrote about this in detail a couple of weeks ago, please check that out here.
After reading this list you will understand the dilemma.

Get the point? Pretty much everything we are using, applying to our bodies and putting in our bodies contains chemicals. Other items we come into daily contact with such as cleaning and washing materials contain chemicals. Again, this list is by no means complete.
There are alternative chemical-free products available for the most part, but these are more expensive and only available in select
What you are not told.
The bottom line is, we are eating, absorbing, and breathing chemicals every day. You don’t have to be a genius to understand that chemicals are harmful to body and mind, and can have a severe negative effect on your health, potentially causing cancer and several other illnesses. Yet all of the listed products contain chemicals, and this is government-sanctioned!
I’ve been asking myself why for a long time. Why is this allowed, and why is this happening? It became clear to me some time ago that the reason so many people are sick, overweight and stressed is down to the food and beverages they consume as well as the daily products they use or come in contact with. That’s when I made a radical change in my life.
Look at the fast-food restaurants, for example, be this McDonalds’ “$1 meal with a burger, fries, and soft-drink,” or Rally’s and Checkers’ “Two Sandwich Meal Deal for $3.50”. Taco Bell’s “$1 Breakfast,” the list is endless. These “foods” are the worst of the worst, the cheapest most heavily processed meats, bread, fries, and include sugar-laden soft-drinks. These companies pump this stuff full of additives for taste and color, i.e., chemicals! It’s
These fast food companies are single-handedly contributing to a massive percentage of severe illness and deaths in the USA and worldwide. It’s all legal and government-sanctioned!

Isn’t this all a bit odd? Why is this so? Why are we conditioned to consume all these foods and products, which contain chemicals, and are of very poor quality and just plain bad for us?
Why are we conditioned to consume all these highly processed sugar-laden foods, such as cereal, bagels, cookies, chips, pretzels, pancakes, sausages, waffles, sandwiches, pizza’s, and packaged and processed foods, basically anything you can find in the main central isles of any supermarket. Well, there are a few simple answers; big business, profits, tax money, and power.

Meanwhile, the population in the USA and worldwide is becoming sicker and sicker by the year. Obesity rates and diabetes are skyrocketing, heart attack, and stroke cases are rising. Yet the food processing industry, the medical industry, the insurance industry, and the pharma industry are booming and making bigger profits than ever.
How did all of this happen?
Back in the day, up to around the 1980s people weren’t eating all of this nasty processed and fast food. Most people were buying their groceries and meats from small local butchers are grocery stores. All the
I remember when I was ten years old, walking to school and popping into the local store to buy my lunch sandwich. I remember going to the local butcher with my mother every other day, purchasing the freshest locally sourced meats.
Somewhere along the line, this all changed with the growth of the population, the rise of fast food, and the rise of huge supermarket chains. Food had to become cheaper and faster! This is when the now huge scale food processing companies were born and took over the supply chain for the the mass food market. From the late 80s and 90s, obesity, diabetes and heart disease have sky rocketed. Coincidence?
How can it be Solved?
Let’s go back to the Aldi news. They are banning the use of any pesticides in their products and banning being the operative word. That means suppliers who want to sell to Aldi, must clean up their act, stop using these chemicals or they are booted! The ban will apply to all vegetables, meats, milk, yogurts, and so on. This is a huge step for a giant supermarket chain, which is also known for the lowest prices.
Why? Two important dynamics are in play;
- Aldi is “forcing” suppliers to clean up or get out.
- Aldi is bringing healthy, clean and chemical-free products to
the the mass market, a market that usually cannot afford to purchase clean organic foods.
So we have a German mass-market supermarket chain leading the way in regulating parts of the food supply chain, to supply consumers with “clean food”, trying to make
If Aldi can do this, so can Whole Foods, Publix, Harris Teeter, Price Chopper, Hannafords, Fresh Market, to name a few, and so could all the fast-food joints (let’s not call them restaurants) and all restaurants for that matter. But they won’t, as the majority of these businesses don’t care for a second about anyone’s health, all they care about is profit maximization, and that’s where the cheapest and nastiest food comes back into play.
Let’s be honest, even the, “founders” of the “Primal Movement” recently sold their “health food company” to one of the biggest and most destructive food industry giants, Kraft, for $200 million. This action doesn’t help people get healthier, it doesn’t support the growth of real clean food, nor does it contribute in any way to a solution. All it’s about is money!
Don’t get me wrong, I love to make money and so should we all, but this is just another example of where we are today and that nobody cares about change, progress and helping people. It’s only ever about money. At least this applies to big business. People like myself and many others I know do care and are trying every day to help and make changes come about.
This article will not be the end of this for me, I’m just starting, and I will find others to join me in the seemingly impossible quest to push the government and help change the world and people to a healthier place and life.
The Government should be here to protect us, or so we are told. In my view, a radical approach is needed and is the only way to fix this mess. Sadly, usually, it’s the small countries that come up with and implement such ideas. True to form it’s happening in Bolivia right now. I stumbled across an article explaining how Bolivia will be “food independent” by 2020, by investing in small “clean” farmers.
The solution is clear; this is what Government has to do:
- Ban the use of antibiotics, pesticides, growth hormones, and GMO in all farming, vegetables, and animals.
- Regulate the fast food industry to use only clean meats and vegetables.
- Ban the use of refined (toxic) vegetable oils, such as sunflower oil, palm oil, and canola oil.
- Ban the use of all chemicals in all products applied to skin, hair, eyes, mouth, etc.
- Invest in Organic Farming so that Organic Farming becomes the norm and everybody, no matter what income bracket, can afford to and has to buy Organic, as that’s pretty much all that’s available in every store.
- Ban processed sugars.
- Ban chemically enhanced sweeteners.
- Educate people on a national level about how to eat and how not to.
- Correct the FDA’s incorrect Food Triangle and recommednations.
That’s what I call, “making organic and clean food available to everyone.” This plan is not unrealistic or impossible to implement. It’s possible, but it would require a massive overhaul of the food industry, and the food processing industry, likely resulting in a number of these culprits going out of business. If introduced over a five to ten year period, and food businesses are forced to either step up, go clean or go bust, it would work.
But here is the catch! If this plan would be introduced, and the food industry wefre forced to change, there would be some very positive but “unwelcome” side effects, such as:
- People would be less sick, generally.
- Doctors visits would decline dramatically.
- Heart disease and stroke rate would decline dramatically.
- Obesity cases would decline.
- Diabetes cases would decline.
- Use of prescription drugs would decline dramatically.
- The number of surgeries would decline dramatically.
- Health insurance wouldn’t be needed anything like it is today.
- Pharma companies would shrink, due to much lower demand.
- Hospitals would downsize due to much lower demand.
- Doctors and Nurses would be laid off, due to much lower demand.
My ideas may seem radical, but in fact, they are not. These ideas would save lives, and dramatically improve the health of millions of people. But once again, that outcome is not on the agenda of any of our dearest governments out there.
Sadly, writing blogs and teaching people directly about how to change their lives and transform their health will not be enough in the long term. Nor will it be for a few random doctors writing books about this subject or self-proclaimed “Primal and Ancestral Health Experts” who are only in this for the money. It’s sad but true, but there is a way to fix this and I will keep at it.
Thanks for reading. As always, please feel free to leave comments and ask questions. I look forward to a discussion on this important subject.
