The “what foods are healthy” phenomenon and the false claims you read daily in mainstream media or see on TV have always fascinated me.
The Standard American (SAD) or Western Diet has long since been debunked as wrong and, in fact, actually unhealthy.
The overconsumption of sugar, grain, and carb-heavy foods has been proven by science to cause diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
Sugar is classified as a food when in fact, it’s an addictive drug.
The ruthless giant food production companies use this to their full advantage to boost their bottom line. They sell their highly processed carb-loaded foods with added sugar to you daily.
That’s why diabetes, obesity, and heart disease have exploded in the last 20 to 30 years.
The result? An explosion of obesity — leading to heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes — the number one cause of death in America and worldwide.
The mainstream continues pushing grains, flour, and unhealthy carb, and sugar-loaded foods on you
Here’s one headline from a popular online health magazine:
“21 Healthy One-Pot Pasta Recipes With 10 Grams of Protein or More”
Here’s the truth:
1 — Pasta is made from white flour, mostly carbs that convert to sugar in your bloodstream. That, in turn, sets off your insulin pump and makes you fat.
2 — Adding a little protein on top of a mountain of carb-pasta is NOT healthy!
Here’s another “false claim” healthy-food headline from the same outlet:
“The One Breakfast a Cardiologist Wants You to Eat More Often”
Next, their introduction, which is blatantly untrue:
“If you want to keep your ticker in tip-top shape, a heart-healthy meal first thing in the morning is the best place to start. And one breakfast stands above the rest according to a cardiologist: avocado toast with a side of fruit.”
Here’s the truth:
1 — You do not need breakfast to keep your ticker in tip-top shape. You’re far better off fasting and waiting until lunchtime before enjoying your first meal!
2 — Instead of eating avocado toast, take a long, fast-paced walk, drink tons of water, and enjoy your morning coffee.
3 — Toast is made from grains (white or grown flour), has added sugar, and makes you fat quickly.
4 — Fruit is acceptable in small amounts only. All fruits except berries are high-carb and high in fructose (sugar).
5 — Consuming too much fruit makes you a fruit-sugar addict and supports weight gain.
6 — Avocados are heart-healthy. They are rich in Omegga-3 Fatty Acids. However, there’s no need to stick them on sugar-loaded toast that only makes you unhealthy and fat.
So, once again — complete disinformation and distortion of the truth are pumped out and into your email inbox by a health publication!
Sad, but true.
Final Thoughts
You must be careful what you read, hear, see, and believe in all things in life.
Of course, you can’t be blamed for believing popular health publications and old-school dietitians’ terribly outdated and wrong advice.
These companies and organizations are to blame!
They knowingly push false information encouraging you to eat foods that will make you unhealthy and gain weight.
Humans are known to be like sheep and prefer to follow the herd — so they do what they’re told and as others do.
That way, the never-ending merry-go-round continues, with people becoming more confused about what foods are healthy and aid weight loss.
The bottom line: The weight loss and mainstream media industries want to keep it that way — you in the dark and them in the profit!
