If you haven’t quite stuck to your resolutions from new year and you are only just sinking into a workout routine, you’re not alone. You’re probably just like everybody else who is desperately trying to catch up with themselves in the hopes of having some kind of a quote unquote summer body. Luckily, you know exactly what you need to do to make yourself feel good, and it’s nothing to do with getting a body ready for a season; Your body is already summer ready, you just need to throw on some organic zink-based sunscreen, which is chemical-free and a swimming costume.

When you workout often, your body feels the effects. Did you know it’s not supposed to hurt after you have a workout? If you are warmed up properly, you should be feeling good in yourself, and yes, while you may feel achy the next day, you shouldn’t be in a lot of pain. Being able to soothe your aching muscles after a workout is important so that you can bounce back from any kind of injury you have done to your muscles very quickly. There are some forms of pain out there that require much more intense remedies, but sometimes you just need to make sure that you incorporate things like yoga or an ice bath with Breath Inspired into your routine. When your muscles tighten from being overworked they can close out your circulatory system.

This means all of those nutrients that you’re bringing in from your post work smoothie are not reaching the right muscle cells in the right quantities. The lactic acid buildup creates that stress tissue which is what makes things feel so sore. So, now you know how it becomes sore let’s take a look at some of the ways to undo it.

  • Arnica. You may know it as a perennial flower found in the European and Siberian mountains, and you may know it as the bright yellow flower with the beautiful long stem. But did you know that arnica is traditionally used in Chinese medicine for bruising? It’s used also for internal damage, and muscle pain. Because it has lactones, it has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body and you can get it in herbal format, to. You can even buy arnica creams and gels to help your body to feel more peaceful and less sore after a workout.
  • Turmeric. Head to your spice cupboard and find the bright orange spice that is turmeric. The root of turmeric has been shown over the years to have amazing anti-inflammatory properties. Most people choose to add turmeric powder to a variety of smoothies and sources as well as their tea. The active ingredient in turmeric only actually makes up 3% of it, so a lot of people choose to add curcumin supplements in order to get the right amount that they need.
  • Stretches. Yoga, Pilates, and simple stretches after a workout to make sure the muscles feel like they have been sufficiently moved can all help to reduce pain. Learning how to stretch your body in the right way avoids any more sore muscles and it can really help you to feel relaxed. Plus, while yoga can be hardcore taking on a session after you have done a massive gym workout can really help.
  • Chamomile. An ancient herb that is used to treat ranges of elements, chamomile can help with muscle spasms. Most people don’t realize that it can help with the after effects of a huge workout, and yet here you are finding it out! Essential oils from chamomile can be massaged into the affected muscles, too, providing you with the relief that you need from the muscle pain.
  • Ginger root. Ginger is another one that can be found in your pantry – just open the spice rack! You can buy it fresh or in tea form, too, and you can bet that you can treat a range of issues with ginger. Pain relief is also another thing entirely and ginger can really help with that.
  • Up Your Vitamin D. Believe it or not, you can actually get some help with your muscle pain with the power of the sun. Well, youc an also take vitamin D in tablet or gel form, and getting regularly exposed to sunshine can help with muscle pains and aches.

You deserve to work out but you also deserve to feel good about it when you do. The way you feel after you exercise is important and you should consider all of these tips when it comes to your next workout.
