I will keep this post about social media problems short as it’s a negative subject that I don’t want to waste my time on.
However, I decided to write this story as I see more and more sad souls go down the dark rabbit hole of social media and attack others for no reason, simply because they do not “approve” of their opinion.
The classic attack and attention-seeking method!
If you read a follower’s post on Facebook – the biggest platform for mentally challenged haters – disagree with it, because you find it aggressive and degrading, then dare to comment that the statement may be extreme and incorrect, the missiles start firing in your direction all over Facebook Groups!
That’s the very sad part. These people don’t simply write back explaining or stating the reasons for their extreme position – they block you, and then their tirade and ranting start.
As you are blocked, you cannot see what and where they are writing about you.
The public defamation and slander begin behind your back!
Before they block you, they take a screenshot of your profile, which they repost with nasty lies about what you may have said, who you are, and what you allegedly did. All of that, despite your comment being harmless and they know nothing about you.
Defamation and slander are illegal and a crime in most countries.
Facebook is the largest global social media platform, yet it has degenerated into a place of hate, slander, defamation, and lies about innocent people.
The worst part?
Despite Facebook knowing this and having the technology to remove hate speech, they couldn’t care less and let people post whatever they want, no matter that it’s a serious criminal offense.
This is particularly the case in Southeast Asia (where I live), as the countries here are less regulated and guarded about this problem.
For example:
If you are slandered and defamed on Facebook in America or Europe and report it to the police, they will immediately commence an investigation.
Then they will issue a warning to Facebook and allow you to press charges against the perpetrator because it’s the law and their obligation.
That’s one reason public defamation on Facebook happens far less in the West than in the East.
On the flip side:
A few sad people have defamed me multiple times over the years.
I usually ignore it. Yet, on two occasions, it became ongoing, extreme, and harmful to my reputation and work.
I decided to report these incidents to the police and showed them the evidence while seeking to press charges.
The police’s response on both occasions was the same:
They take 5 minutes to look at and read the harassment, then shrug their shoulders, saying:
“It’s no big deal – forget about it.”
Thus, you cannot get help to stop the crimes damaging your name.
That’s why hate speech, harassment, defamation, and slander run rampant in most Southeast Asian countries.
The mentally challenged who post their schizophrenic and narcissistic scenarios know this and thus use Facebook to abuse others in public.
Mostly, it’s attention-seeking, but at times, it’s worse. It can even go as far as threats and blackmail.
Facebook must keep the community safe and free of hate speech and harassment – that’s their obligation!
Yet, they do not follow their own community guidelines about this serious matter!!!
This fact is a tragedy and a disgrace.
Facebook must be held accountable for not taking this problem seriously, by not monitoring and immediately removing harassment, hate speech, slander, and defamation.

Final Thoughts on Social Media
Social media is an asset for all to benefit from – personally and for work if used correctly and respectfully.
It should not be tolerated in the slightest that social media is an outlet to ridicule and lie about others.
I am sad to say the following, but it’s the truth!
Facebook has allowed this to happen – they have blood on their hands because of it.
Many desperate folks have committed suicide over time due to the nasty and degrading harassment they suffered from their haters on Facebook. To make matters worse, the majority of these deaths are kids and teenagers.
How long will Facebook and the authorities allow this to continue?
That is the question I am burning to get an answer to. Will the authorities worldwide step up and force facebook to change their ways? I doubt it as they also live in denial, are self-centered, and don’t care about their citizens.
