Spending plenty of time in nature by walking, hiking, trekking, swimming, kayaking, or other outdoor activities you enjoy, is vital for your mental and physical health.
That’s the main reason I’m a strong advocate for exercising outdoors in nature daily or as much as possible, depending on the weather situation where you live.
One thing is for sure: Going to the gym every day, pumping free weights, and pushing back and forth in those machines is NOT what the body wants, nor is it aligned with our body’s natural movements. The typical gym exercise machines over time cause injury, inflammation, and arthritis to your joints and can make you pull a muscle. Purely because those machines do not allow your body to move in natural motion. Additionally, people are always urged to push themselves harder and add more weight to get to the “next level.”
That’s extremely dangerous and bad advice often given by gym trainers and training partners.
That is the reason you are way better off training yourself in nature using your body as your gym with calisthenic, alone or with your partner.
In addition, spending multiple hours a week in a dark, noisy, dirty gym (yes, they all are full of bacteria), and dealing with the crowds of people around you isn’t good for your body and mind.
You may build some muscle that way, sure, but it comes at a cost – frequent injuries and often becoming sick can set you back for months.
It happens all the time and time and again to the very same people. Yet, they don’t learn their lesson, instead, they take a 2-week break – which is often not enough to heal – then hop right back into the gym hampster wheel!
The best way to strengthen your immune system, build a robust cardiovascular system, heart health, strong and lean muscles, and lose excess fat, is by frequently walking, hiking, or swimming exposed to the sunshine in nature.
That’s why I chose to live in Cambodia
Cambodia is a small country compared to its neighbors, yet there are a vast amount of mountain ranges, jungle treks, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, islands, and beaches to visit and enjoy.
Cambodia’s geographical size has its advantages. It allows you to get from one end to the other or almost anywhere else in the country within a day. The simplest and cheapest way is to use the numerous minibus transportation services.
Kampot is my favorite place to live in Cambodia. It’s surrounded by mountains, like a half circle, all the way from Kep on the southeastern part, close to Vietnam, then around the back of Kampot, and into the river by Kampot, where the massive Bokor Mountain range begins.
Please take a moment to watch my YouTube video where you see me hiking the mountain:
There’s so much diversity and activity options in the Kampot region, known as “Coastal Cambodia,” it’s hard to get bored.
If you do, you are doing something wrong.
Come to Cambodia. I would be happy to show you around Kampot and other parts of Cambodia as your personal concierge!
