Each time I read the next gym fanatic blurbing out “leg day” online, I slowly shake my head and say to myself: “When will you guys learn?”
The term “leg day” irritates me because it’s a counterproductive and unintelligent practice.
It’s worse when you see it in practice on videos posted on the usual social media platforms by the so-called “fitness influencers.”
However, watching a medical doctor who calls himself a former professional athlete pushing heavy weight lifting as healthy is sad.
The MD title before or after their name is always in sight, which draws attention and makes everyone think — his methods must be right — after all, he’s an MD!
In reality, this medical doctor is just another weight-lifting fanatic who is busting his heart with his daily heavy lifting and weight-bearing jumps.
The doctor I’m referring to is a popular carnivore diet advocate.
He does a great job explaining the ins and outs of the carnivore diet, for which I’m grateful. But when it comes to fitness and strength training, ehm, not so much.
Excessive weight training is bad for your heart and body
I’ll keep this explanation short as I’ve written it 100 times before. I’ll add a few links to my older stories that explain the effects this kind of training has on your heart.
The easy 10-step outline:
1 — Daily heavy weight lifting releases excessive amounts of the stress hormone — cortisol — into your bloodstream.
2 — Constant stress on your system, over time, causes heart disease, which can result in a heart attack or stroke.
3 — The longer the workout, the more stress you’re heart experiences.
4 — Isolating specific body parts of extreme workouts increases that stress level.
5 — Short, efficient workouts targeting your whole body simultaneously limit stress.
6 — Your body is heavy enough for resistance training without adding unnatural weight-bearing exercises.
7 — Weight-lifting can cause muscle and joint injuries and arthritis over time.
8 — Bodyweight workouts do the opposite — you work out naturally by using your body as your gym. It’s near impossible to hurt yourself, yet you can build strong and lean muscles that look real, not bulked up by heavy weights.
9 — You don’t need a gym or weights to perform calisthenics. All you need is a space on the floor, indoors or outdoors.
10 — There are hundreds of bodyweight movements to perform. It never gets boring and massively supports excellent natural body and mind strength.
I made a short video that shows you 4 simple on-the-spot leg exercises using only your body weight.
Please check it out to learn how easy, effective, and time-consuming this is.
Here’s an example of my daily movements and activities that keep me fit and happy without any heavy training:
1 — I walked 3 miles in the morning.
2 — In the afternoon, I pumped out 10 swim sprints, which took 10 minutes.
3 — In the evening, I walked fast up a small steep mountain trail to watch the fantastic sunset unfold.
Job done and it was fun!

Final Thoughts
Working out does not have to be grueling and demanding.
The opposite — it should be fun and integrated into your daily “healthy lifestyle habits.”
That’s how you protect and maintain a strong heart, build a sexy lean muscular body, and have a relaxed and happy mindset.
