I LOVE my cheese and eat it almost daily with meat, fish, seafood, and eggs!
I find it both funny and annoying when the hard-core carnivores bang on that we should only eat meat, and only preferably rib-eye steaks!
I see such comments almost every day on social media — mostly from newbies who’ve been following the diet for a few months or a year.
The comments go like this:
“Eat your steaks — I never get bored of eating a rib-eye — beef is the most nutrient-rich meat — so don’t eat anything else if you’re a real carnivore and want to find and maintain excellent health!”
Rubbish and I beg to differ because those statements are simply inaccurate and misleading to the average Joe.
Plus, they make the possibility of someone even thinking about giving the carnivore diet a go offputting! That doesn’t help!
My job and mission as a modern nutritionist and keto-carnivore for over 8 years is to help, motivate, and make the switch to eating meat and animal products more accessible and enjoyable to the masses.
That, my dear keto or carnivore cohorts and friends, is what your mission should be too!
Make the idea of the carnivore lifestyle easy to grasp — then, far more folks will follow!
Pushing meat, preferably rib-eye steaks, as the golden rule, is counterproductive for us all and those in desperate need of our help!
Today, I read another such misleading comment on Twitter, where a lady relatively new to the lifestyle tweeted this:
“Don’t eat dairy products — they can constipate you!”
A blank and unexplained statement that’s entirely untrue and unhelpful too.
What’s wrong with dairy products if you’re a carnivore?
The meaning of Carnivore is “meat eater.”
However, all animal products are acceptable and even advisable because they vastly contribute to optimal nutrient intake and excellent health, digestion, muscle building, staying lean, burning fat, and do NOT cause constipation!
You can enjoy many foods on the carnivore diet that are great, making it far more appealing and interesting.
Here’s the list of what I eat — and it works like a charm:
- All meats
- Organs (if you like them, I don’t)
- Fatty fish
- Seafood
- Eggs in abundance
- Butter
- Coconut oil
- Cheese (the harder the cheeses have less carbs)
- Whipping cream with 35% fat content
- Herbs and spices
- Hot chili peppers
- Garlic
- Onions
- Cruciferous vegetables (if you like — they are lectin and phyton-free)
- Berries
- Dark Chocolate
So, there you have the truth and a solid list of the wonderful, nutrient-rich, and delicious foods you may eat on the carnivore diet.
