I realized this 7 years ago when I had a stroke, and my blood pressure was off the charts.
My then-wife — a surgeon — didn’t know why. She had no idea that our family lived off mostly carbs and sugar, with little protein.
The stroke obviously scared the hell out of me. The doctors just prescribed statins (steroids) and Aspirin as a blood thinner. Not once did they ask about my diet or make any nutritional recommendations that may improve my health.
They got me even more worried when they said they “believed” I had some unusual heart condition with a small hole present, which likely caused the stroke.
Wonderful news, I thought to myself. However, I was suspicious of their diagnosis. I was 45 at the time. I had spent many years competing at the highest level in ski racing.
If I had a heart problem, surely it would have reared its head much earlier.
I was not too fond of taking steroids for the rest of my life. So I got to work and researched the potential cause of a stroke.
Everything I found pointed toward the types and amount of food and sugar you eat — this can cause obesity and lead to heart disease or stroke!
From high carb to keto diet
“The conventional recommendation that food should be low in fat, medium protein, and high in carbohydrate, for heart health is now recognized as a mistake. This even lead to increase in production / consumption of food grains rice, wheat, millets as well as ultra-processed foods leading to obesity and T2D world over.” TimesofIndia.com
The Keto-Carnivore Diet Saved My Life
I can make this strong claim with certainty. I was a complete mess, overweight, very sick, and my mental health was in ruins.
Once I discovered the natural principle of the Keto diet and studied it, my body and mind changed entirely within 2 to 3 months.
I lost all the excess weight, rebuilt lean muscles, and fixed my head too. I regained my confidence and happiness and came off all meds for good!
I’ve now lived this lifestyle for 7 years. As a result, I’m fitter and healthier than ever at age 53.
I turned completely carnivore about 1 year ago and only eat meat, fish, seafood, eggs, butter, cheese, cream, herbs, and spices. I feel even better for it,
I wasn’t happy when I turned 40 and dreaded entering the 50s. I used to think life was pretty much done once you passed half a century.
It turned out the opposite was the case. I now enjoy my life far more than before. I do not care or worry about my age and getting older anymore. I feel great and happy in my skin and with my work.
I love teaching others and writing about this wonderful way of living and eating simple, tasty, yet super-nutritious food.
Final Thought
Medical doctors often are looked upon as “gods” of exceptional abilityThey — they aren’t. MDs are regular people like you and me.
They are simply taught how to practice medicine. They aren’t taught how to live the best life and eat healthily, nor what food does to the body.
And that, my friends, I think is a big shame.
Thankfully, many medical doctors have upped their game in the last 5 years and understood that eating healthy meats is best for the human body and brain.
They now prescribe eating proper food to their patients to heal rather than meds to cover up the underlying issue.
Nutrition should become a must-take module in medical school. Doctors could then help far more people heal without taking meds.
