The anti-alcohol camp will make you believe any drop of alcohol in whatever shape or form will make you gain weight and damage your metabolic and mental health.
I can tell you in clear terms that’s classic scaremongering and not true.
The controversial yet surprising good news and truth?
Drinking alcohol is good for you as long as it’s the right kind and you enjoy it in limited quantities — that means not much!
The reason for this article is to debunk the extreme anti-alcohol camp claiming that drinking any alcohol will ruin your health, just like sugar does.
That’s simply a misinformed and incorrect view held by some folks who had or have an alcohol problem — I understand dealing with that problem is hard and that there are many yearly deaths because of alcohol abuse.
But that is not what this article is about — it’s about the fact that you can live very healthily on the keto-carnivore diet while continuing to enjoy some red wine with cheese!
Red wine, consumed with intelligence and in limitation, accompanied by a lovely cheese platter, poses absolutely zero health risks — the opposite is true — and it’s pricelessly delicious!
Disclaimer: When I talk about alcohol, I refer to wine — I do not drink any other alcoholic drinks anymore, nor do I advise you to.
Here’s why:
- Beer is made from grains, super high-carb, and loaded with sugar that makes you fat and sick.
- Spirits, in my opinion, taste terrible, burn your throat and chest, and the alcohol content is far too high. Why would you shoot a glass of tequila or vodka when it makes you feel like vomiting?
I recommend avoiding all alcoholic drinks, except for wine, consumed responsibly.
Wine is another story
Have you ever visited Italy, France, or Nappa Valley, their vineyards, and tasted their sensational creations called wine?
I have multiple times. Once you do, you’ll know what I mean, and you won’t ever stop enjoying wine + cheese!
The interesting part of most wine-tasting occasions is that it’s almost always accompanied by cheese.
Hmm, you scratch, scratch your head, and wonder why?
Hello — cheese is freaking delicious — that’s why! Nothing is better than wine and cheese, especially in the right setting. Well, maybe sex comes close!
Let me get to the moral of the story — though you probably have my drift already
1) Wine consumed in reasonable amounts does not harm your metabolic or mental health — the opposite — it invigorates and stimulates your mind. Wine also delivers powerful antioxidants.
2) Cheese consumed sensibly does not make you fat. Cheese is fermented and thus contains few carbs and sugars — it’s high in healthy saturated fat and protein.
Final Thought
The bottom line:
I’ve been drinking wine and eating cheese my entire adult life.
I drank and ate these delights when I was fat and sick, and I still do today — but less — and I’m healthy, slim, lean, and never sick.
Wine and Cheese do not harm you in any way whatsoever if consumed responsibly!
If you want to lose weight and eat the right way, you have to ditch most of your favorite foods and beverages — I know at first that sucks.
Thankfully, that’s not the case with wine and cheese — so keep on enjoying it, but, you know, not all the time! Right?
And that, my connoisseur friends, is all I wanted to tell you.
Have a great week!
