Great for them if they believe their made-up story and choose to exist by only eating steaks.
Their take has a problem: It’s flawed, misleading, and off-putting advice to thousands who might be considering switching to the healthiest diet for humanity, known as keto-carnivore!
The twist and truth: The so-called “meat-eater diet” isn’t only about eating meat or zooming in on beef and rib-eye steaks.
On the contrary – heaps of foods are available to you in the form of all animal meats, fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, some vegetables and fruits, and even dark chocolate and a little alcohol too!
Alcohol? Yes, it is fine to drink moderate amounts of low to no-carb alcohol on the Real Carnivore diet. This includes wine and spirits.
Unfortunately, some more “well-known” carnivore advocates abuse their reach on social media to hammer home the beef and steak story. That often leads to brainwashing their followers and everyone else into believing we should just eat steaks!
The natural carnivore diet – what you can and should eat!
I call my diet what it is – real. Thus, I coined the terms:

I’ve moved away from using the word “keto” much these days.
What is keto, really? It’s not a diet. So why call it the “keto diet? The term was made up for marketing reasons, no more, no less.
If you eat proper food, mainly animal protein, fat, and a few other nutrients, you become a “fat burner” instead of a sugar and glucose-burning food addict.
Once you reach this stage and have transformed your metabolism away from toxic sugar-laden foods, you automatically reach a state of ketosis.
What does “ketosis” really mean?
- Your blood sugar is low – which is very good
- Little to no sugar or glucose is in your bloodstream, which makes it “clean” and boosts your metabolic and mental health
- Your liver produces and shoots tiny protein enzymes called ketones into your blood for extra energy
The result is that your body and mind are functioning perfectly well or even better, with much less food intake and no sugar or glucose (glucose, which is sugar, is the byproduct of anything made from grains, fibers, and even vegetables).
For decades we’ve been misinformed that we must consume carbohydrates-high foods for fuel, no animal fat, and very little meat.

Bizarrely, the old-school government food recommendations were utterly inaccurate.
There are reasons these false food guidelines were created, as well as the unhealthy “food pyramid,” which I explain in another story.
The opposite is what the human body and brain need to thrive!
Lots of meat, saturated animal fat, seafood, fish, eggs, and other high-fat and protein foods.
Why do these “carnivore experts” push the beef?
Cows are glorious animals. They eat grass and provide us with a ton of healthy meat. If I’m not wrong, we could live off one cow for 1 year! That says a lot, for sure.
Beef, indeed, is one of the most nutrient-dense meats.
However, it’s also true that other animal meats, fish, and seafood are equally rich in nutrients and provide other health benefits that beef doesn’t.
Chicken, pork, lamb, salmon, sardines, oysters, shrimp, clams, mussels, and lobster, to name a few of my favorites, are super nutrient-dense, packed with protein, healthy saturated fats, and other essential nutrients.
Many folks are intolerant to herbs, spices, and some of the classic nutrient-loaded essential cooking vegetables that make food delicious, claim the “extreme experts.”
Again, that’s not true, a subjective point of view, which is likely not even true for themselves.
I’m referring to the following: Onions, garlic, chilis, ginger, and more. These 4 ingredients form the basis of almost all my heart-healthy homemade meals.
I’ve been living on the “real carnivore diet” for close to 9 years, which means I have time and experience under my belt. 90% of the online carnivore talking heads can’t say the same.
Once I started, I lost all my excess weight and regained my optimal body composition with lean muscles and no visible fat within 3 months. I’m constantly full of energy, and I’m never sick.
During the last 8 years, I studied nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits in great depth, developed my unique program, and coached hundreds back to ideal health and happiness.
None of my clients showed any signs of intolerance to any foods I recommend and eat daily.
The opposite – every single one flourished, lost the desired weight, and found the “young version” of themselves again!
Final Thoughts
Please do yourself and me a favor. Don’t listen to folks who tell you only to eat beef and steaks!
There’s far more diversity and tasty foods you can enjoy and thrive on if you follow the “real carnivore lifestyle.”
After all, variety is the spice of life! That saying is a truism, no doubt.
