Food addiction is real — it must be taken seriously and treated with much more concern. First and foremost, people’s diets should be assessed to ensure they begin to eat “real” food instead of sugar and junk food!
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. This is the case in the U.S. and worldwide. More than half of all people who die due to heart disease are men. Medical professionals use the term heart disease to describe several conditions. This is all caused by the excessive overconsumption of carbs, fiber, and sugar.

Many of these conditions relate to the buildup of plaque in the walls of the arteries.

As the plaque develops, the arteries narrow. This makes it difficult for blood to flow around the body and increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. It can also give rise to angina, arrythmias, and heart failure.

A headline from one of the UK’s most popular newspapers from February 21, 2023:
“UK push to rank food addiction alongside drugs and alcohol.”
www.Express.co.uk
I’m grateful the article was published in this particular paper because the masses read it. In other words, the mostly not-so-well-off, of which many suffer from food-related health issues.
So, is something finally happening somewhere?
It’s a start, a small step in the right direction at least.
A certified expert publicly stated that food addiction, which causes diabetes, obesity, and early death, is a massive epidemic and will unleash an unsustainable health crisis.
“Dr. Jen Unwin, a former addict who is now a chartered clinical and health psychologist, said: “We are sleepwalking into a public health disaster.”
www.express.co.uk
The problem is this is not a mission led by the government.
Instead, the UK charity Public Health Collaboration is considering proposing to the World Health Organisation (WHO) to classify food addiction as a substance use disorder — like cocaine, opioids, and nicotine.
But, will they classify food addiction as substance abuse, what good would that do?
Whatever the WHO decides, however, doesn’t affect a country’s laws and regulations.
The UK is a prime example:
Considering who was chosen as the UK’s new “Health Secretary,” Theresa Coffey, I’m not hopeful anything will or can change.
Ms. Coffey is only 50, yet looks markedly older. It’s evident she’s exceptionally unhealthy, probably has type 2 diabetes, is very overweight, and likely doesn’t even know why.
“She told LBC’s Nick Ferrari that she “appreciates I may not be the role model,” but that her own experiences as an NHS patient will see her make them the priority.” www.news.sky.com
This a worrying inaccurate comment and claim – being a patient yourself does not qualify you to be a national “health advisor.”
Let’s face the facts and something known as “reality.” A person in such poor health should not be the leader of a country’s health policy. That’s simply common sense!
The Addiction To Carbs, Fiber, and Sugar-Laced Junk Foods That Make You Sick
Now to the gist and purpose of this story:
Whether you like it or not and disagree — consuming excessive amounts of carbs, sugary foods, and fiber makes you sick.
It is the root of this worldwide exploding health epidemic.
Just look around when you’re walking the streets of your hometown. You will soon see that most people are overweight or obese and look pretty damn awful!
They’re aging like sour milk!

1 — Carbs
Carbohydrates are derived from grains and are pro-inflammatory to the body.
They convert to sugar in your bloodstream and are pushed into your fat cells by your insulin, making you overweight and slowly sicker.
All processed foods come from one form of grain or another and are nutrient-poor.
Plus, these processed junk foods you eat always contain added sugar.
2 — Sugar
What can I say about sugar? There’s not much to say, to be honest, it’s simple.
Sugar is addictive — it’s toxic and rots your teeth, stomach, and mind, making you mentally and physically sick.
Sugar is a drug falsely wrongly as food. That should be changed, but it wouldn’t be good for business!
The worst part about sugar?
It’s the largest crop in the world and purposely snuck into every processed food and drink you consume.
Sugar is not food — sugar is a drug. It messes with your body and mind, makes you a food addict, ill, and gain weight.
3 — Fiber
Essential for your gut and promotes digestion? Oh really?
Fibrous foods are mostly carb-heavy, are also often made from grains, and can and do cause a leaky gut (celiac disease).
I had celiac disease for years — it was the worst time of my life.
Once I stopped eating most vegetables and legumes, guess what? My leaky gut disappeared — just like that!
I wonder why? A miracle, a coincidence? No, plain reality.
Your body does not need fiber for digestion or anything else.
Fiber is another non-essential nutrient.
Final Thoughts
To all carb and sugar lovers out there:
If you are addicted to these so-called foods and drinks, your health will continue to decline.
I’ve been there – I used to weigh 215 lbs. I changed my diet and lifestyle 8 years ago – after a stroke – I have remained steady at 154 lbs since.

I turned my mental and metabolic health from terrible 8 years ago to excellent by dropping those “food groups” from my diet entirely.
I do not eat carbs, fiber, or sugar. Do I look unhealthy or like I’m dying at age 53? Photo by Rob Hourmont
I know millions of others have successfully done the same and so can YOU!
Let’s all get healthy by ditching sugar, junk, and fast foods!
