Stolen Identity and Fake Lost or Stolen Passport Report:
I was purposely targeted and trapped in Manila Airport in the Philippines because of malicious Passport Identity Theft and a Fake Lost or Stolen Passport Report made in Cambodia.
Sadly, the “UK system” is a mess and does not protect innocent citizens on the other side of the planet.
The British Home Office should have contacted me via the British Embassy in Cambodia to warn me, or added a “red flag” to my passport, instead of brutally canceling it.
A “red flag” would have alerted immigration officials on arrival of the “supposed lost or stolen report” anywhere I may have gone. The officials could have then identified me with my passport in hand and reported this fact to Interpol and the British Home Office so my passport would be cleared with me free to continue my journey.
The report to Interpol and or the Home Office would have read something like this:
Mr. Hourmont has his passport in hand thus, the lost or stolen report is fake.
That would have been the end of the story without further drama, huge cost, and lost time.
Sadly, however, that did not happen, instead, I was detained, stranded, and plunged into an ugly distressing mess.
The Fishy Part?
When leaving Cambodia my passport was scanned at the immigration counter, and my fingerprints and photo were taken as normal.
The Interpol report would have immediately popped up at the Phnom Penh airport immigration point. Yet, I was not told about my invalid passport as I exited Cambodia.
Funny that, isn’t it? Sounds like a set-up, don’t you think?
This strange fact can only be explained with an “inside job” to inflict maximum harm on me, financially, emotionally, and physically, when I next traveled.
And that is what happened when I landed and tried to enter the Philippines.
While the financial damage has been considerable, the criminal scammers did not manage to break my spirits or inflict any emotional or physical distress.
This experience is one of the most bizarre in my life, yet I have taken it in my stride and processed it into a positive to embark on a new direction and an even more successful, and safer life journey along my travels.
While the scammers got away with their malicious act (for now), the British Home Office has proven that it does not care about the safety and well-being of its citizens living or traveling abroad.

Final Thoughts
1 – It’s sad to realize that some people have such sick minds and purposely go out of their way to inflict maximum damage on an innocent person. That was an eye-opener and something I never thought could happen.
2 – It’s equally sad and alarming that my own country and its “Home Office” didn’t warn or protect me before I commenced my travels out of Cambodia. After all, my passport was reported lost or stolen 2 weeks before I left Cambodia. That gave them or the local police ample time to contact me via phone or email.
But…they chose not to, and instead left me stranded on the other side of the planet without a passport.
Fast forward one week to the 31st January 2025, and I am still waiting to receive my “marked as urgent” passport replacement.
All in all, the situation and outcome are an absolute disgrace, as is the concept of Passport and Stolen Identity Theft.
